Jan Barrow
Staff nominee Jan is a retired primary school principal, and has also worked as a lecturer at the College of Education and as a reviewer for the ERO. She continues to undertake the occasional consulting contract for the Ministry of Education. She holds a BA in English and an MA in Education. Jan is actively involved in school life, particularly with the First XI hockey team. Her sons Levi and Ari are students in the Secondary School.

David Boyd
David is a founding shareholder and Managing Director of Foot Science International and was appointed to the Board in 2006 in his own right. He has a son in Year 9 and a daughter in Year 13.

Judge Michael Crosbie
His Honour Judge Michael (Mike) Crosbie was appointed a District Court Judge in August 2001 and was appointed a member of the New Zealand Parole Board in 2002. Judge Crosbie holds an LLM (Distinction) from Otago University, graduating from there in 1984. Previously he was a litigation partner in the Australasian law firm Minter Ellison Rudd Watts, based in Wellington. Judge Crosbie is married with three school-aged children. The family leads an active educational, sporting and cultural life.

Richard Hallifax
Rick holds an LLB and was a lawyer before becoming the Managing Director of his family’s importing and wholesaling business. Voted on to the Board as a parent nominee in 2006, Rick is also the coach of the College’s under-9 rugby team. Until recently he served on the Westland Cancer Society Board. He is a member of the Christchurch Civic Trust and is involved in a number of other community organisations including the Richmond Fellowship. He has three children at St Andrew’s and a son at university.

Christine Leighton
As Rector of the College, Christine joins the Board as a member in her own right. Previously Christine was Principal of St Hilda's College, Dunedin. She has also served as Assistant Principal at Nelson College for Girls and Head of English at Tauranga Boys' College. She is an experienced and highly regarded teaching professional, committed to high educational opportunities for all. Christine’s younger son is in Year 13 at the College.

Garry Moore
Garry works as a Financial Adviser and holds a BCom, MBA, DipFA, and CA. Garry is a former PTA president. He joined the Finance Committee in March 2004, before becoming its Chair in 2005. He became a Board member as a parent nominee in September 2004 and became Board Chair in 2006. He has also coached junior rugby and cricket for the College, and has a son in Year 13.

Bryan Pearson
Bryan is CEO of Vbase Limited and non-executive director of a number of organisations including J Ballantyne & Co Ltd and Southern Opera. He has enjoyed a successful senior management career over almost 20 years, primarily in the apparel and retail sectors in New Zealand and overseas. He attended St Andrew’s from 1976 to 1979 and has two sons – Henry (Year 9) and Tom (Year 7) – at the College.

Spencer Smith
Spencer is a partner with Ernst & Young. He specialises in the field of taxation, although his professional experience encompasses a broad range of audit, due diligence and transactional work. Spencer holds a BCA in Accountancy and an LLB from Victoria University in Wellington. He is a member of the Advisory Board to the University of Canterbury Business College and a member of one of the University’s academic review boards. Spencer has two boys – Spencer jnr (Year 12) and Albie (Year 8) – attending the College.
