StAC Teams Shine in Social Studies Quiz
On Thursday 6 November the inaugural Otago Daily Times Extra! Social Studies quiz, involving 20 teams from all over Canterbury, was held at St Bede’s College. Ten rounds of questions posed challenges such as questions on places in the new in New Zealand and the world, famous faces, recognising flags, interpreting cartoons, who and what am I and a newspaper scavenger hunt.
St Andrew’s entered three teams of three competitors each (all Year 10), and finished up in first, second and fourth places. The winning team of Annie Angus, James Eastman and Robbie Jaine (pictured) scored 92 out of a possible 100 marks. The runners-up, Daniel Chan, Will Reid and Benji Wright, scored 90. The fourth place getters, Yunho Yee, Melanie Lipinski and Sarah Wright scored 85.
