Pipe Dreams Come True for St Andrew's!
The St Andrew’s College Pipe Band continues to establish new benchmarks of excellence and amaze all who have the good fortune to hear them play.
At the National Championships held recently in Christchurch, our A Band stormed into first place in the Juvenile division. That result was expected. We are perenially the best in the business at that level. But the achievements that followed were simply remarkable. The band went on to win the overall International Schools category, the International Schools Drum Corps category, the Grade 2 Open Drum Corps category and – the biggest of all – the Grade 2 Open overall title. This final achievement has been compared to a school First XV winning the National Provincial Championship in rugby!
