Chris Cox (Year 12) and Andrew Errington (Year 13) continue to set the standard in secondary schools kartsporting, claiming the national title for St Andrew’s College for the second year running.
Despite stiff opposition from St Kentigern College’s Jake Pascoe, Chris and Andrew made the 125cc Rotax Max Light class at the Hawkes Bay event their own. Chris won two of his four heats, as well as the final, to win the individual class title. Andrew finished third overall with a second and two third placings in the heats and another second placing in the final. Together they easily claimed the title for St Andrew’s.
Chris then went on to take second place in the Senior 100cc Yamaha Light class.
The 2009 Schools Championship event attracted 139 entries from as far south as Dunedin and as far north as Whangarei, so this is an extraordinary achievement by two very talented young drivers!
