Honouring your legacy in your lifetime.

Our very first bequestor, Duncan Rutherford, is remembered in a variety of ways throughout St Andrew’s College, and one of these is the 1917 Society. This is a special group through which we recognise all those who have chosen to make a gift to the College through their Will.

It’s our way of saying 'thank you' during your lifetime for the difference you have chosen to make for the future of all St Andrew’s students.

Through this Society, we encourage members to meet and enjoy each other’s company at a special annual event hosted by the Rector, along with invitations to other events in our community calendar.

Other benefits include:

  • membership recognition in St Andrew’s College publications, such as Regulus;
  • regular information about the life and activities of the College;
  • regular reports on the impact of giving at St Andrew’s College, including the investment performance of the College Endowment Fund.

We understand that making a Will is a very personal matter and you may prefer to remain anonymous. However, if you would like to become a member of the 1917 Society, we very much look forward to welcoming you.

Your membership is also an encouragement to others to join you in making a bequest to St Andrew’s, thereby significantly increasing the impact of your own gift.

Duncan Rutherford’s legacy continues to live on not only through the College, but also through the people who share his generosity of spirit.
