Please note: Class sizes are limited. Places are assigned on date of registration.
Note: if new to our programme, entry for Year 5 and above requires prior experience in ballet or another dance form (or high level gymnastics training). A trial class or audition may be required plus taking the Introduction Class, if accepted.
An 'Introduction to Ballet' class is compulsory for all new students in Year 3 and above who have no/limited dance experience. This class (offered in Term 1 only) is taken in conjunction with the above classes to provide new dancers with a head start to catch up to their peer group.
Please select if your child is new to the program at Year 3 or above:
Pre-Pointe and Pointe Classes for dancers in Years 7–8. One class/week.

Ballet Scholarship (a 50% reduction of Technique and Performance Classes for a year)
One Ballet Scholarship (age 11 and over) is available for a new dancer entering St Andrew’s College with prior ballet training (past ballet exam results expected at honours or above). Applications close 30 January. If applying, please send copies of your child’s last two years of exam reports to CCA@stac.school.nz. A decision is made in Term 1 after the first week of classes when observations of candidates takes place.
Additional / Extension Classes
We offer the following optional classes for students who would like to be extended with their technique, and experience different dance genres. These take place at a lunchtime, one class/week ($100 per term).
Adult Dance Class
We offer a popular dance class for our parents and friends of St Andrew’s College. Currently held on Monday mornings, 8.30am–9.30am. $100 per term.
Account refunds and care policy:
Accounts are sent out via email the second week of each term and are payable upon receipt (10% charge added on invoices that remain unpaid after 10 business days); no credits or refunds given on withdrawn or missed classes (pro-rata refunds for medical reasons only, with medical note supplied) additional costs include annual exam fees; costuming charges, RNZB Guest Tutor experiences, and CD/DVDs (if ordered); ballet tutor(s) take all care, but accidents can happen in any type of physical activity. I authorise medical care if needed.
Confirmation of registration and further details, including uniform, will be sent via email upon acceptance into the Ballet Academy. The timetable is published in Week 1/Term 1.
