Music Scholarships

Prizegiving 2011149 3

St Andrew’s College is pleased to offer the following annual music scholarships:

Preparatory School, Year 7

Up to two scholarships are awarded each year, covering 50 percent of tuition fees for two or three years. Applications should be made to the Preparatory School Office by the end of April.

Candidates attend an audition at which they perform two contrasting pieces from their own repertoire on their musical instrument. They may also be asked to sing short passages by ear and respond to aural tests of pitch and rhythm.

The College is particularly interested in players of woodwind, brass and string instruments, although the ability to sing and play the piano is an added recommendation.

As I reflect back on another busy term, I am once again amazed at the variety of events and activities that we have managed to pack into eleven weeks.  Once again, there have been many reasons to celebrate, and successes to acknowledge.

Events have included Swimming and Athletics Sports Days, Founders’ Day, Governor-General’s Dinner, Boarding House Opening, Open Days and the creation of our very own ‘Lip Dub’, This is Us – all opportunities to enjoy our special StAC spirit and showcase some of our outstanding student talent.  Thank you to parents, PTA, Old Collegians and Board members who joined in on these occasions.

Let us show you around...

Chapel Update

Chapel Bridge SM

The College is ready to embark on rebuilding its Memorial Chapel which was badly damaged in the 2011 earthquakes. The Chapel is a significant facility that services the large St Andrew’s community which has a strong emotional connection to the present building. After a robust consultation process the decision has been made to deconstruct the existing Chapel and build a larger Chapel able to meet the College’s future needs.
