The Thistle Club operates as an independent group within the St Andrew’s College Rugby Club. It was formed to uphold the tradition of Rugby at St Andrew’s College and maintain the connection between present and past players, supporters, parents and friends of the St Andrew’s College Rugby Community and to support the development of the Rugby Programme at St Andrew’s.
It provides members with the opportunity to support and encourage St Andrew’s College Rugby from the Preparatory School through to the 1st XV and meet with fellow Thistle Club members at various rugby-orientated luncheons, held at St Andrew’s, prior to watching a 1st XV game.
The Thistle Club also gives those whose playing days have ended a continued sense of belonging and purpose. We want and need the continued support and input from our ex-players and supporters.
Any person who has an affiliation with St Andrew’s College Rugby (whether a present or past player, supporter, parent or friend of the St Andrew’s College Rugby community) who feels they can support the purpose of the Thistle Club qualifies for membership.
The Thistle Club is administered by the St Andrew’s College Rugby Club Committee.
There are two options for membership. A one-off payment of $500 grants Life Membership to the Thistle Club and each member will have their name entered on the Thistle Club Honours Board; or alternatively, members can pay an annual subscription fee of $100 for each year that they wish to remain members.
