I would like to extend a special thanks to all who attended the China Girl wine tasting and auction evening. We were thrilled with the evening and the generosity of the auction bidders. We are sure all successful bidders will enjoy their China Girl Pinot Noir, particularly in the unique bottles that were offered with special signatures displayed on each. We are delighted to have raised a further $7000 from the evening to go toward the new Centennial Chapel.
I would like to extend a special thank you to our Old Collegian and Managing Director of Crown Range Cellar, Jing Song, who offered us this wonderful opportunity. It was fantastic to hear about the journey that has taken Jing from StAC to Crown Range and the success she has achieved. Jing spoke at the secondary school assembly the following morning and her story was enthusiastically received by all the students.
I would also like to acknowledge Jo Burynska, sound artist and wine critic, who took us all through the multi- sensory tasting, with the matching of the wine, food and music. Russell Gray and his catering team deserve a mention for the amazing food they prepared to accompany these prestigious wines.
Finally, I would like to acknowledge Phil McGoldrick who did a superb job as auctioneer. Phil is a past and current parent of St Andrew’s and a professional auctioneer for Harcourts. He generously gave his time to assist us on this evening and did an amazing job, which contributed to the success of the night.
