Step Into Our Future – Giving Opportunities

Theatre Complex – Artist Impression

Our spectacular Centenary in 2017 was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate our past. While we continue to honour the important traditions at St Andrew’s College, our focus is now firmly on the future. The exciting StAC101 initiative is taking us into our second century, and creating new traditions, which will inspire the generations of students to come.

Our new direction is also reflected in the Step Into Our Future campaign. This highly successful initiative was introduced in 2013 to help repair and enhance the campus post-earthquakes and to prepare for our Centenary celebrations. The incredibly generous support of the St Andrew’s College community has helped with many significant projects during this time, including the construction of the Centennial Chapel, Turley Bridge, Stewart Junior Centre and The Green Library and Innovation Centre. This amazing support has given us the confidence to step our giving opportunities in a new direction, with a focus on the exciting redevelopment of the Theatre Complex, and the continued growth of the St Andrew’s College Foundation.

Just as every student counts at St Andrew’s College, so too does every gift. We would greatly appreciate your generosity and participation in Step Into Our Future.

The redevelopment of our Theatre Complex is the next exciting building project on the College campus. This facility is a hub for many Secondary and Preparatory School students who take part in a wide variety of Cultural pursuits at St Andrew’s College. Hundreds of people in the StAC community visit the theatre each year to watch our enthusiastic, talented students perform in top quality productions and revues. The Theatre is also a place where students can learn to participate in behind the scenes roles, such as sound, music and lighting, costumes, make-up, set design, props, stage management, directing and producing.

Features of the Theatre redevelopment include:

  • improved access and safety;
  • enhanced sound and lighting;
  • larger stage and backstage areas;
  • new designated areas for changing and storage;
  • a larger entranceway and foyer with space for food facilities;
  • greater comfort for the audience.

How can you help?

Buy a Note – Artist Impression

There are a number of ways you can support the Theatre redevelopment:

Purchase a note from the College Song

A stunning art piece will be created, displaying the notes of the College Song and all note-donor names. This will be exhibited in the Theatre Complex foyer.

Purchase a plaque on a seat in the Theatre

Your generosity will be displayed on a seat in the redeveloped Theatre.

Naming Rights

A major gift could help you to create a wonderful lasting legacy at St Andrew’s College with naming rights of the Theatre or areas of the Theatre Complex.

For further information, contact the Director of Development on development@stac.school.nz or +64 3 940 2068.

Buy a Brick

BricksYou can still support the Centennial Chapel project through our ‘Buy a Brick’ initiative, by purchasing one of the original bricks from the original Memorial Chapel (now placed in the Memorial Wall) for $3000. This gift can be paid over time. Donors receive recognition of their name, a child’s, or a family name on a plaque in the Centennial Chapel foyer.

Endeavour Scholarship Fund
