Catch Your Death

By Ravena Guron

Catch Your Death is a murder mystery thriller story, following the three protagonists (Lizzie, Devi, and Jayne) as they arrive, supposedly coincidentally, in an old mansion (in the middle of a fierce snowstorm!), all for different purposes, on the exact night the philanthropist Emily Vanforte dies.

The story initially (this changes toward the end) is made up entirely of different interviews with the police, being questioned on the exact specific things all three were up to.

All the philanthropist's family members have opposing personalities (Lottie’s character begins very meek, Tate is the stereotype of a ‘bad boy’, and initially Douglas seems to be arrogant and entitled), which adds depth to the story, though as the story progresses the people’s personalities develop further, and change, or are revealed to be different than the initial idea.

Throughout the story there is action packed around every corner, from the discovery of golden knives hidden under the floorboards, to secret passages hidden in the walls, there wasn’t a moment of reading this that I wasn’t completely engaged in the story.

I’d highly recommend this for people who love feeling thrilled, love solving puzzles and mind games, and who live for plot twists.

I really like how this book, while it is about solving a murder case, doesn’t explicitly have any violence, or blood and gore, which makes it a good read for people who aren’t comfortable reading books with that type of content.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
