St Andrew’s College students once again achieved impressive success in NCEA, with a total of 223 Excellence endorsements across all three year levels (72 at Level 1, 81 at Level 2, and 70 at Level 3). Congratulations to all students who gained overall Excellence endorsements, along with the many students who gained subject endorsements.
Dux of St Andrew’s College: Jasmine Hooker
The exceptional academic achievements of Jasmine Hooker saw her win the David Wilton Prize for the Dux of St Andrew’s College for 2025. Jasmine earned an A+ in Mathematics at the University of Canterbury and achieved the highest result of any female competitor in the South Island for the New Zealand Mathematics and Physics Competition. She also received a General Excellence Prize, and gained NZQA Scholarships in Music as a Year 11 student, Chemistry as a Year 12 student, and English, Chemistry, and Statistics in Year 13.
2025 NZQA Scholarship Awards
A group of 33 St Andrew’s students (including seven in Year 12 in 2025) gained an impressive 64 NZQA Scholarships in 2025 examinations, with three of these at Outstanding level. High achievers included Joshua Adams (Year 13 in 2025) who was awarded six scholarships, and Cohnor Walsh (Year 12 in 2025) who received a perfect 24 out of 24 score in the Technology examination and was one of only 55 students nationwide to receive a Top Scholar Award.
