Ellie Zhou wins National Flash Fiction Day Competition

St Andrew’s students received outstanding success at the 2026 National Flash Fiction Day Competition with Ellie Zhou (Year 13), Head of Writing, named overall national winner with her wonderful story, i am seven years old, just as i have always been.

Ellarose Wang (Year 10) placed third for her story, Most trees live beautiful and lonely lives, and Thomas Ambury (Year 11) received a Highly Commended award for his story, Eggs and this equation is wrong.

Hanxi (Cicy) Chen (Year 12) made the competition’s shortlist and longlist with two different stories, and Emma Zang (Year 9) was also longlisted.
