Year 11 Semi-formal 2026

Wearing elegant dresses, sharp suits, glowing tans, and beautifully matched corsages, Year 11 students gathered excitedly at a beautifully decked out function room at Riccarton Racecourse for a night of glitz and glamour at the highly-anticipated Year 11 Semi-formal.

There was a great atmosphere from the outset as friends gathered, photos were snapped, and the dance floor filled, with the DJ playing lots of popular tunes.

The Year 13 prefects did a great job helping staff to chaperone the students and supervise the night, ensuring it all ran seamlessly.

There was lots of fun competition throughout the night, with a range of prizes up for grabs including the ever-popular Best Dressed, Best Shoes, Most Enthusiastic, and Cutest Couple awards.

After working up an appetite on the dance floor, the students enjoyed a delicious supper.

The Middle School Leaders did lots of hard work behind the scenes to organise the event and decorate the venue, creating a wonderful backdrop for a night of high energy fun. A special mention to Assistant Head of Middle School, Liz Gormack, Year 11 Dean, James Jenkinson and Year 11 Assistant Dean, Ellie Simatos, for their help with the organisation of the event, and other St Andrew’s staff for providing support on the night.
