Our bright, modern boarding houses provide comfortable, affordable accommodation for up to 170 people and are particularly well suited to travelling sports teams or conference goers.
We offer twin-share or quad accommodation (including a made bed) in three boarding houses – Thompson, and Rutherford (new three-storey buildings constructed in 2012), and MacGibbon (which was refurbished the same year).
Each house has relaxed communal spaces and Thompson and Rutherford have day lounges on each floor. Television is available with limited SKY options in all boarding houses, along with free Wi-Fi and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.
Please note these facilities are not suitable for self-catering. However we welcome you to take advantage of the range of catering options offered by St Andrew’s.
We have a minimum booking requirement of 25 people and a minimum two-night stay.
Some of the many groups to have enjoyed these wonderful facilities include Canterbury Crusaders’ Development Camp, Mainland Football, Middle Eastern Dance Association of New Zealand, Southland Rugby and Discovery Foundation.
St Andrew’s offers a range of top quality, flexible catering options for those accommodated in the boarding house or attending onsite conferences.
Groups can choose whichever combination of catering works for them, from hearty breakfasts, to packed lunches, morning and afternoon teas, dinners, and even formal meals, served in the College’s Dining Room.
Our caterers are renowned for producing high quality food and generous sized portions. They are happy to cater for the needs of individuals with allergies and sports teams with strict dietary requirements.
Casual meals can also be provided for non-residential guests who form part of a conference group on the College campus. These are charged to the conference.
