This year, we celebrate Rector Christine Leighton’s remarkable 17-year tenure at St Andrew's. Her dedication to our students and commitment to their success has been unwavering. Donations to the Rector’s Discretion fund will provide short-term financial support to students facing unexpected challenges. Richie Mo’unga (OC 2012)

All Black Richie Mo’unga (OC 2012) attended St Andrew’s College on a scholarship, playing for the U15 and 1st XV teams, and captaining the latter in his final year. After school, he joined the Canterbury ITM Cup side and the Crusaders Training Squad in 2015. Richie made his All Blacks debut in 2018 against France and credits St Andrew’s for providing him with opportunities and support, helping him achieve his dreams.

Victoria Lee (OC 2019)

Victoria Lee (OC 2019) excelled as a scholarship student and multi-instrumentalist during her time at St Andrew's College. She performed at Carnegie Hall, led the New Zealand Secondary Schools’ Orchestra, and achieved top honours in various music competitions. Victoria also shone in jazz and pop, winning Best Bassist at Southern Jam. As a prefect, she was known for her leadership and humility. She is now studying Medicine at the University of Otago and continues to enjoy participating in ensembles such as the Dunedin Youth Orchestra and New Zealand Doctors' Orchestra.

Russell Boey (OC 2018)

Russell Boey (OC 2018) said his scholarship allowed him to “continue to experience this amazing environment” and work with some great teachers who helped him to achieve his academic goals. Born in Singapore, he moved to New Zealand as a child and attended St Andrew’s College on a scholarship, starting in the Preparatory School. Russell was awarded Dux in his final year, achieving six NZQA Scholarships – five at Outstanding level – and was named among the top 11 students in New Zealand. He won a bronze medal at the 50th Chemistry Olympiad and had notable creative writing successes. In 2019, he began studying Physics at the University of Auckland. He is currently pursuing a PhD in cosmology, studying binary black holes in ultralight dark matter.

True Blue Society

After contributing to our Annual Giving appeals for five years or more, you will automatically become a member of our True Blue Society.

The generosity of our True Blue members has helped provide scholarship support and played a pivotal role in upholding the exceptional standard of independent education we provide.
