Heads of College and Prefects

Our Heads of College and Prefects are important leaders in the Senior College. These roles are appointed (students do not apply) through peer vote and staff vote.

The Year 12 Leadership Day is a key event that identifies potential Year 13 leaders for the following year. The day, which is held early in Term 4, is also structured to develop leadership skills, help Year 12 students bond as a future Year 13 leadership group, and challenge them, in a fun environment.

A selection meeting involving all Secondary School staff is held in October each year, with interview short lists drawn up. Once the list has been finalised, students are contacted, and interviews are held. The Heads and Deputies of College, and Heads of Boarding are announced at the end-of-year prizegiving. The rest of the Prefect team is announced in early December.

A Prefect Leadership Camp is held at Castle Hill in December each year, with the Prefects’ Induction at the first assembly of Term 1.
